Sam

Sam got neutered yesterday! He was all excited when we got to the Spay/Neuter Clinic at our local SPCA. There were lots and lots of dogs there. He wanted to make new friends. But when he came home, he wasn't so excited. He's doing fine, but not his usual perky self. I'm sure he'll be back to normal in a few days.

Signs of Spring

For me and my world--the major sign of spring is that I'm probably not going to be posting much at all.

I work LOTS of hours from Jan 15 to Apr 15. Adding school and some home responsibilities results in very little leisure time.

I do read some of your blogs from time to time, very quickly and usually don't take the time to post comments. But I do think of you all often.

I'm sure I'll sneak a few blog posts in from time to time and I'll be back to more normal blogging routines in May.

Photo Challenge--patterns & textures

It's time for another edition of Brenda's Photo Challenge. I love these challenges! I've been incredibly busy lately with no let up in sight and thought about skipping this one. But when I started looking at everyone else's pictures, I just couldn't resist playing along. I grabbed my camera and took about 50 pictures in the house this morning. I deleted about half cause they were fuzzy or out of focus. I'm really not that good of a photographer. I have no training and just take a bunch of pictures until I get something I like. But then I ended up with considerably more than 3 that I wanted to share. So I'm a rule breaker this go around. Without further delay--My Patterns & Textures Pictures

My sweet, sweet Little Bit is soft textured and so full of beautiful patterns. And she just happened to be laying on one of the many crocheted doilies that my mother made.

And who doesn't love the neat squares and creamy texture of a Hershey Bar!!

These next 4 pictures sort of go together. This is my couch pillow and snuggle blanket.
So soft and such a pretty texture and pattern.

So soft and snuggly!
Here's a shot of them together.
Now for pictures of China patterns from my China hutch!

First a couple of pictures of the pattern I chose when I got married. I still think they are the most beautiful dishes!

These were my mother's dishes. I don't think they are China, but aren't they pretty. I just have a few pieces of them.

And these were my Grandmother's dishes!
And my last picture is of one of the many, many handmade quilts I have from my mother. Mama was a very talented and creative lady. She's been in heaven the last 7 years. I still miss her. But I treasure the many handmade items I have from her work. Many of the scraps of fabric in the quilts were from material used to make my clothes growing up. I can often see the dress or blouse or whatever article of clothing when I look at these beautiful old quilts.
Thanks for sharing in my world of patterns and textures and thanks to Donna from Cottage Day's and Journeys for a wonderfully fun challenge. Be sure you go to the Brenda's Photo Challenge Blog to find more pictures of Patterns and Textures.

Hubby can drive again!!

My husband was finally released to drive again this morning after 8 weeks, 4 days, 1 hour, and 36 minutes. Okay, so I don't really know the hours and minutes....but well. Let's just say, I'm VERY, VERY happy that he can drive again.
