NEVER AGAIN!!!!
I hope I never, ever have to move again! I hurt all over! So thankful for the Jacuzzi in the new house! Beginning to wander if I will ever find places for all my "stuff." But I really do love my new house! Gotta go back to work tomorrow.

Moving Day!
30 days ago I posted about the insanity of house hunting on December 23. But we prayed and God answered. We found a new home. Things have gone amazingly smoothly although very hectic. Today is moving day! We've worked so very hard packing for a month. But I think we're ready.
These next few days will be filled with unpacking and finding places for all the things that passed the "loved or needed" test.
So--time to pack the perishables!!

Sorting down memory lane
All this packing after 30 years of marriage and living in this house for 14 years, is a trip down memory lane! It gets kind of emotional at times. We're trying to think sensibly, but some things that wouldn't mean a thing to anyone else are being moved yet again. Don't get me wrong, I am chunking a lot of stuff. But last night I ran across the dress I wore on my very first date with my hubby. I showed it to him and he recognized it too. So it's getting moved for the 10th time. The first time was when I got married. We moved several times during the first few years of marriage. Then we stayed put for 10 years and now 14 years. I only moved once while living with my parents. So all total, this is my 11th time to move. (I didn't count moving to a college dorm room for a year.)
How about you? Are you a mover or a stay putter? What senseless things do you keep keeping just because of the memory?

Another Question for thought
What's the most humanly impossible thing you will ask God to do this year?
“With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever." Ephesians 3:20-21
Think BIG this year!

Enjoy HIM more in 2010!
What is one thing you could do this year to increase your enjoyment of God?
Think about that one!
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" Philippians 4:4
The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephania 3:17
Don't you just love that He enjoys us! Recognizing just how much He loves me leads me to love Him all the more.

New House
I am really getting excited about my new house. It has been so amazing to watch what God is doing through this. We've wanted to move for quite a while and just didn't think it would work out and every time we'd look into it, everything just fell apart. We'd pray about it and then get a peace that it just wasn't time yet. So we'd be content to stay put. Then in the fall a few things happened unexpectedly that indicated it might just be time to look again. AND this time, let me tell you, God just seems to be swinging the doors wide open. So here are pics of the new house front and back.

And here's a glimpse of the packing process at the old house. OH MY so much to do!!!

We are scheduled to close on Jan 22 and the seller's had requested 2 days after close to move out. So we decided to put in a new kitchen floor, countertops, and paint a couple of rooms that had wall paper on them before moving in. So I requested an appointment to take a couple of people to the house to get quotes on some of that work on Saturday. When we arrived the sellers indicated that they are moving out this coming Wed and Thurs and would be interested in moving the closing up. The mortgage banker met me at my office to get one final (we think) requested piece of documentation on the loan later on Saturday. She thinks she can have everything ready to close by this Friday!!!! The most interesting thing is that when we were writing up the contract, and the realtor asked when we wanted to close, I requested the 15th. He persuaded me to give it a full 30 days which was one more week. I just got so excited! God has shown Himself so very strong. Now I have even more to get done this week. With the kitchen and bathroom work, we'll probably still not be living in the house fully until near Feb 1. But we can start taking some things and getting it in place.

Wish I liked sports!
I didn't grow up in a sports fan family and my hubby isn't a sports nut either. So except for the times our boys played on various little league or school teams, we've never gotten into watching sports.
But those of you who enjoy watching sports and are excited to cheer for your school seem to enjoy it so much, that sometimes I wish I liked watching sports too.
Is it too late for me? Can I pick a team or a sport to follow and get intrigued?
What sport is the BEST sport? What team should I rally around?

BRRRR, BRRRRR, BRRRRR!
It's cold in Texas! I know all you northern folks think us southerners are just babies when it comes to cold weather! Well, maybe we are....but maybe that's why we live in the south.
BUT it sure makes me thankful for my working heater and warm Snuggie! I actually got 2 Snuggies for Christmas from different people. NOW I have BOTH of them on! How great!
I must be part reptile....cause when it's cold like this......I just like to snuggle up with a blanket and stay still.
But alas...I must get myself in gear and get to work this morning.
We have our Pre-Tax Season Planning meeting scheduled today where we "oil our gears" and make sure our "tax team machine" is working well.

Need more Energy?

On New Year's Day I was reading a magazine while traveling. It had a great article about New Year's Resolutions. It talked about how we resolve to do things that are so vague or so big that they are impossible to keep. And then it explained that you might be more successful to resolve to change minor things that will result in changes in the area you really need to change as a by-product. For example: If you need to lose weight, don't resolve to lose weight, resolve to exercise for 10 minutes a day. 10 minutes seems doable and will likely lead to longer times and to weight loss. Although many of their suggestions were great, I found one that really stuck out to me. It said that if you need more energy, then resolve to write down at least 3 things you are grateful for each morning. Studies have shown that focusing on the positives in your life leads to more energy.
Back in November when I did my countdown to Thanksgiving by posting things I was thankful for by going through the alphabet had been a wonderful experience for me. It was fun and helped get me through some busy days. After that was over, I started a new blog: Attitude of Gratitude. I'm really trying to start my days by posting 3 things I'm thankful for on that blog every single morning.
I invite all my blog friends to find ways to improve your attitude of gratitude as well.
