Have my SHOES!!!

I found the perfect shoes to go with my dress for my son's wedding next week! I was beginning to get concerned about this, but my God even helps with silly little things like shoe shopping. I had been told I would have a hard time finding comfortable navy dress shoes. BUT with a prayer, I found them right away.

Party

We hosted a party for my soon-to-be-wed son and his bride today at our house. I cooked all day Friday, cleaned and prepared for on Sat and more today. But it was fun. My son doesn't particularly enjoy having his picture taken, but my cat Panther LOVES to have his picture taken. He kept trying to get in the pictures we were taking--even when we went outside and left him inside he managed to get in the picture.

I had fun making the edible arrangement centerpiece. This is my second attempt at an edible arrangement. I'm pleased with it.

Photo Challenge--Flowers!

Well, flowers is just about my favorite thing to photograph, so I couldn't let this challenge slip by without entering. Sorry everyone for missing so many of the challenges. Actually I haven't even blogged much lately--just busy! But here are my 3 entries for FLOWERS!

All 3 pics were taken in March 2010 at the Dallas Arboretum during Dallas Blooms Festival. Gee I want to go back to the Arboretum again! Now I look forward to seeing everyone else's flower pictures. Have a great Saturday!

It's Monday Again!

The weekends go by so quickly! And then the weekdays zip past and another whole week has been marked off of the calendar. My middle son's wedding is in less than 3 weeks. It seems like just the other day when they became officially engaged. That was in November 2008! The wedding seemed so far off and now it is so very soon.

Happy Mother's Day!

I am honored to be a mother--my 3 sons so many years ago! What an adventure to be the mother of 3 boys. I'm thankful that all 3 will be together for lunch today. That cute one grinning from ear to ear (middle one) invited us all to his house! He's grilling burgers--Yummy! In only 4 weeks he'll be married--where oh where did the years go?

And this dear lady, has been my "Mother" for the last almost 31 years. How fortunate I am to have a mother-in-law as wonderful as "Mema."

Now a couple of pictures of my own dear sweet mother who watches over me from heaven for 8 years now. So thankful for all she taught me and all the sacrifices she made for me. I still miss you though, and often wish I could show you something or tell you something or ask you some more questions. But I'm thankful that you are enjoying being in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

I found this scanned picture of her high school graduation. She was a very smart lady.

Wishing mothers everywhere a very happy Mother's Day!

New Eyes

So I finally made it to the Eye Doctor today....I think it's been on my "to do after April 15th" list for a year or 2. Actually, I have been noticing that it is harder to see for the last few months. When I got there, it had been 4 years.

Anyway--I graduated to the bifocal club. I opted for the progressive no line lenses and added the transition effect so I'll have some help with sunlight. I've worn glasses since I was in 5th grade and never had any sunshades other than occasionally putting sunglasses over my real glasses. Wore contacts for a while a few different times.

So I'm looking forward to getting my new eyes in a week or so.
