New Beginnings

Here I am again starting a new semester of school with new classes, new books, new schedule...and a fresh new attitude.

Planning to do my best to stay consistent with my studies this semester and to find joy all along the way in the midst of the tasks I must complete. If I view my chores as burdens, then they will be burdensome, but if I view them as blessings and opportunities then they will be sources of joy.

So glad I have the opportunity to learn new things.

Where is the time?

It seems that time just keeps hiding one step away. I simply can't believe how quickly the days go by and I always seem to be running behind.

My 2 week break from school is over. Classes start on Monday. I have my books and need to start reading.

The final deadlines for extended tax returns are rapidly approaching. 9/15 and 10/15 are pretty major deadlines. So I need to start working overtime.

Well, it's Friday and that seems to brighten the day.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. My list of weekend chores and plans is impossible.

Going to see my sister

Planning to go visit my sister tomorrow night and Saturday. It's really just us now and we talk by phone often but I don't see her much. With my school break, I mentioned to her that I'd like to come and she was quite excited about the idea. So after work tomorrow I'll head out. We'll figure out something to do.

A Clean Heart

God woke me up early this morning. I really needed some time alone with Him. I'll spare you all the details, but lets just say my heart was dirty and needed a good old fashion time of confession and forgiveness. Please listen to this song that is my prayer today!




He reminded me that all I really needed was a good dose of 1st John 1:9.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

He used some other verses of scripture along the way and a really good message from Beth Moore that I found here.

Thankful that the Lord doesn't give up on me and that He's already paid the price for all my sins.

I just turned in my last assignment for the summer session. I get 2 weeks off from school!!! Yippee!

All Work and No Play Makes Karen A Boring Blogger

Not sure what else to say....I managed to overload this summer on work and school. I gotta make it through these next few days and then I gotta FIND some FUN!!!

Happy and Sad

I've been so excited to see my son and future daughter-in-law working through tough decisions and dealing with business professionals to buy their first home. I feel so certain this is a good, wise thing for them. I'm glad my son will have a little time completely out on his own before they get married. She's in school until May about 4 hours away, so he'll have all the responsibility of the house for these next several months. The wedding is the 1st Sat in June 2010.

He moved most everything yesterday, but came back today for a few last items. It seemed so final, that I've found myself choking up a bit today. Of course he left some mess to clean up. But not too much. The room is empty, so I'll need to move a few things from other rooms to keep it looking decent. But some of that will need to wait until after this class is over....11 more days.

My oldest son moved out of our home twice. I've lost count of how many times the youngest has moved out and come back for a while and then out again. But this is the first time this son has moved out. He's 23 and I know it's time. Since he is #2, we've had at least one child at home for 26 years, 4 1/2 months.
